Please visit these other Jewish Music Community sites:

                        Jewish Entertainment Resources  and   HotShabbat.com

Are you a performer? Looking to make a recording? Looking for someone to transcribe your music? Sell your CDs? Looking for bookings? These links will help get you started.

The first place to go was

Jewish Entertainment Resources

Sadly, this site, lovingly maintained by Judy Caplan Ginsburgh, has been discontinued. The site was a veritable treasure trove of useful resources for Jewish Performers. There was a searchable database of performers, a calendar of events, and links to some of the best resources on the web for musicians. Be sure to take the time to register on the site to gain access to all the resources. Sadly, not enough members of the community continued to be registered performers for the modest fees charged. Due to this and other reasons the site could no longer be maintained. Be sure to let Judy know how grateful you are for all her efforts to maintain that site over the years.

Instruments as Carry On Luggage

A PDF file of a letter from the Transportation Security Administration to the American Federation of Musicians addressing the permission to bring instruments on board airplanes as carry-on luggage. Keep a copy of the letter with you to use when you encounter problems.

From Burton Zipser: The American Federation of Musicians has been trying for several years to improve the attitude of Delta Airlines. They  recommend not flying with them until you can carry your instrument  aboard, and you can assist your own cause by calling their 800 number every time you fly to let them know that, since they are not hospitable to musicians, you have chosen again to fly with one of their competitors. In fact, if you call them once every two weeks, they may get the idea. Always ask first if their policy has >changed. If they realize that this policy is losing business for them, they WILL change it.
