To subscribe by e-mail, follow these directions:
Send an Email message (from the Email account you wish to subscribe from ) to: listserv@shamash.org
Leave the subject line blank.
enter the following text in the body of the message :
SUBSCRIBE hanashir your full name
where (your full name) is not your Email address, but your full name. The ListServ gets your Email address automatically from the message. Please use your real name, and not a nickname or "handle." We will reject requests that do not include full name. (If we determine you have a valid reason for having your name appear differently to the list, we can do that.)
An example:
SUBSCRIBE hanashir Ploni ben Ploni
You will receive a series of messages. One, from Shamash, will tell you that your subscription request has been forwarded to the List Owner. You will then receive an automated message from me, the List Owner, adrian@ehavanashira.org, as you to confirm your request. This message also requires you to validate your interest in the list's topic of discussion. Be sure to respond to this request, or you will not be subscribed. When you are subscribed, you will receive an informational message with instructions on how to participate in the list discussions.
You may also access list features via the ListServ web interface at http://listserv.shamash.org/
Once you establish a login at list.serv.shamash.org you can control almost all your list settings for hanashir and any other Shamash lists to which you are subscribed. You can: subscribe, unsubscribe, vacation hold, change your email address, set digest or individual email options, etc.
